PURPOSE: A magnetic clamping device is provided to improve welding property through forming a gap between steel plates in welding the steel plates having processed surfaces such as zinc alloy sheet plates. CONSTITUTION: Clamping units are formed at end portions of a clamper and a locator for clamping steel plates. Herein, the clamping units are formed by magnetic units (M1,M2) for adsorbing the steel plates by using magnetic force. The magnetic units are formed by magnetic tips (26) combined by bolts. Thus, the magnetic tips are conveniently replaced. A cylinder pushes a rod for the clamper to perform clamping operation. Herein, a gap is formed between the magnetic unit of the locator and the magnetic unit of the clamper. By applying pressure to the cylinder, the rod is elevated for hinge operating the clamper. Thus, the magnetic unit of the clamper approaches the magnetic unit of the locator while maintaining the gap. Thus, steel plates (12) between the magnetic units are moved to up and down for being clamped.
