PURPOSE: A rod bar replacing device is provided to replace a rod bar from outside of rod mill without inputting a worker into the rod mill as a device of replacing a worn out rod bar to a new one inside the rod mill. CONSTITUTION: By the motion of a trolley(31), a boom(32) is inserted into a rod mill(1) and an electromagnet(35) is decreased. When a rod bar(9) enters into a gripper(39) open, wind-up is completed and with operating a drive cylinder, a gripper(39) for fixing the rod bar is closed. And the rod bar is tightly held to be fixed. And the trolley is moved rearward and the rod bar is withdrawn outside of the rod mill. An electromagnet traction machine(33) is operated outside of the rod mill for the trolley to be forwarded to insert the boom into the rod mill. Next, the electromagnet traction machine is operated to descend the electromagnet to be placed on the rod bar. Further, power is applied to the electromagnet for attaching the rod bar on the electromagnet.
