PURPOSE: An edible ink composition for an ink jet printer is provided which makes it possible to simply print and decorate color images on a cake or an ice cream instead of working by hand, stencil or silk screen and is also applied to various printing fields of foods other than cake decoration. CONSTITUTION: The edible ink composition for an ink jet printer comprises: (i) 3-6% volume/volume of an edible pigment; (ii) 5-10% volume/volume of a propylene glycol; (iii) 0.5-1% weight/volume of an arabic gum; (iv) 0.5-1% volume/volume of an edible glycerin; and (v) 80-90% volume/volume of refined water. |
