PURPOSE: A method for retrieving commands for the operation of a wired exchange is provided to rapidly search for detailed information for plural MMC commands and various parameters, in the case of inputting various commands, necessary to operate a wired exchange of small capacity, to an operator terminal. CONSTITUTION: If an operator inputs a command information output request command(DIS-CMD-INF:para1, para2, para3:) through an operator terminal, it is judged whether the first parameter for the inputted command is a character or a digit(S101). In case that the first parameter is a digit, it is checked whether a relevant command exists in the database of an HMP(Human Machine Processor)(S102). In case that the relevant command exists in the database of the HMP, command information is obtained from a hash table(S104), and then the obtained command is outputted through the operator terminal(S105). Then it is judged whether the number of parameters is "0"(S106). In case that the number of parameters is "0", parameter information is obtained from the hash table(S108), and then outputted(S109).
