PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a thickened fabric softener composition not affect rewettability since a high-molecular weight rheology modifier does not need a preparation process for slurrying or dispersing the modifier into the fabric softener composition, to make a cationic surfactant not be accumulated on a fabric in a polycyclic washing, to make the thickened fabric softener composition provide softness and reduce formation of wrinkles. SOLUTION: This thickened aqueous fabric softener composition comprises the high-molecular weight rheology modifier being a polymerization product of (i) an acrylic acid or methacrylic acid alkyl ester, (ii) a monomer selected from the group consisting of a vinyl-substituted cyclic compound containing at least one nitrogen or sulfur atom, (meth)acrylamide, a mono- or dialkylaminoalkyl (meth)acrylate and a mono- or dialkylaminoalkyl (meth) acrylamide and (iii) an associative monomer and at least one kind of surfactant.
