PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inhibiting the elution of a chromium (VI) oxide when it is formed in a slag generated during the dissolution and refining of stainless steel. SOLUTION: This method for inhibiting the elution of the chromium (VI) is characterized in that the elution of the chromium (VI) is inhibited by adding barium chloride to the molten slag containing the chromium oxide.
