PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently pyrolytically decompose waste plastics, especially waste olefinic plastic such as waste polyethylene to product a gas component. SOLUTION: This method for pyrolysis, comprising melting waste plastics in a feeding device 2, continuously feeding the melted product into a tubular pyrolysis device 3 to pyrolyticelly decompose the melted product in the absence of oxygen, and further pyrolytically decomposing the unreacted plastic sin a tank type pyrolytically device 4 in the absence of oxygen. The produced gas component can be cooled and condensed with a condenser 25 to recover the oil.
