The device includes at least one sensor (9) for detecting the parameters. The sensor is arranged on at least one component of the dashboard that is often associated with the driver's body surfaces during the journey. The detected values are compared with stored reference values by an evaluation device. The component may be associated with an extremity of the upper body of the driver, to biometrically detect the current body state, e.g. on the steering wheel, and measure skin resistance, blood sugar level, oxygen or carbon dioxide content of the blood etc.
