PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make shaft with a relatively simple mechanism and structure for performing motive power connecting disconnecting work between a winding shaft and a paper tube by using compressed air, and to increase a withstand load as the winding shaft. SOLUTION: A paper tube chuck B is composed of a stationary ring 1, a sliding ring 2, a chucking ball 3 for protruding and retreating from a horizontal outer wall part 12 between the horizontal outer wall part 12 of the stationary ring and an inclined outer peripheral surface 22 of the sliding ring and a cylinder ring 5 for respectively bilaterally symmetrically arranging a ring-shaped piston 4 and forming an air chamber 7 by cooperating with the bilaterally symmetrically arranged ring-shaped piston; a clutch ring C for transmitting motive power of a shaft body A to the stationary ring 1 is interposed and arranged between the respective paper tube chucks B; and an air sending passage 8 for supplying compressed air to the air chamber 7 is formed in the shaft direction in the shaft body.
