PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the enlargement in shape of a crawler frame in a conventional crawler type traveling device in which an idler fork for supporting an idler is held by upper and lower support frames and has the limitation in the smaller size design, particularly, in the inclination of the upper surface of the crawler frame to prevent the accumulation of earth and sand, and to reduce the number of part items to reduce the working cost and the time. SOLUTION: In the structure for supporting the idler 14 of a crawler type traveling device 1 by a longitudinally slidable idler fork 16, a longitudinal recessed part 16a formed on the idler fork 16 is fitted to a support frame 17 that is a longitudinal protruding part provided on an idler support frame 12, and the recessed part 16a and the protruding part 17 are provided substantially in the same height as the axial center position of an idler shaft 14a.
