HEAT INSULATING AND DEODORIZING DEVICE FOR MANHOLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a phenomenon that snow thawing holes are formed at a position of a manhole cover on a snow fall road to secure traffic safety and prevent a nasty smell from leaking out on the ground from a sewer and discharge meltwater flowing in the manhole when a specified quantity of meltwater accumulates. SOLUTION: The diameter of a circular frame body 2 to be installed in a manhole 1 can be freely expanded or contracted. A rubber outside sealing material 13 hermetically sealing the gap between the outer peripheral face of the circular frame body 2 and the manhole 1 is provided, and an inside sealing material 14 is provided at the inner peripheral edge. A pair of semicircular heat insulating closing bodies 15, 15 are arranged in the circular frame body 2 so as to partition the inside of the manhole 1 into upper and lower sections. Respective heat insulating closing bodies 15 are usually installed in a pressure-contact condition with the inside sealing material 14 so as to be rotatable toward the circular frame body 2 side by a spring hinge 19.
