PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dish basket for a dishwasher, by which the dishwasher is made to be smallsized without the fear of erroneously breaking a dish when an upper basket is housed and noise does not occur even when washing is performed after housing the upper basket. SOLUTION: The dish basket 1 is arranged inside the washing chamber 3 of the dishwasher 2 and is provided with a lower basket 4 disposed in the lower part of the chamber 3, an erecting part 5 extended in its upper part and the upper basket disposed in the upper part of the lower basket 4. The upper basket consists of a rocking basket 5 fitted to the erecting part 5 by turning upward with a prescribed angle in the front part and of a slide basket 7 nearly horizontally fitted to the tip part. The slide basket 7 is put in/out by sliding towards the rocking basket 6 without rotating itself as in a conventional manner. Then the height H of the upper part of the slide basket 7 is not required to be increased so that the dishwasher 2 is made to be smallsized. Besides, the slide basket 7 is slid in a state where the dish is placed on it.
