RICE WASHER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate bran from rice without damaging the starch cells of the rice and to reduce time for washing the rice by circulating the rice efficiently in a rice washing device in a rice washer for removing the bran from the surfaces of the rice. SOLUTION: A prescribed quantity of rice 8 is fed into a nearly cylindrical container 11 and a container lid 12 is fitted to closely seal the rice 8 in the container 11. A rotary impeller 4 arranged rotatably in the container 11 is driven by a driving means 5. The impeller 4 raises the rice 8 to the upper part of the container 11 or the lid 12 while pressing it to the side wall of the container 11, and the container 11 or the lid 12 move the raised rice 8 to nearly the center of the container 11.
