In an arrangement for supporting vehicles 135 on an upper level 12 above a lower parking level 14, inclined ramps 46, 48, 50, 52, extending between the two levels are pivotally mounted about inclined longitudinal axes 56 whereby vehicles may be driven along the ramps between levels when the ramps are in one position, and vehicles may be driven between the ramps for parking at the lower level when the ramps are pivoted into vertical planes. The ramps are counterbalanced by weights 58 which may be adjustable by varying the ballast content of hollow containers, or manual pivoting once spring catches have been normally withdrawn. The ramps 46 and 50 are pivotable through 180 degrees so that they may be used for the two adjacent vehicle lanes of the three shown. Upper ramps 60, 62, 64 between the inclined ramps and the upper level tracks 44, are pivoted about the axis 74 and are counterbalanced by weights 78 into the horizontal position in the plane of the upper tracks 44 until being forced into an inclined attitude by engagement with the inclined ramps as they are moved into the vehicle-receiving position. The upper level tracks 44 may be extended 136, 138, 140 to accommodate any number of vehicles, a walkway 136 being provided beside each track for use of the driver of the rearmost vehicle. |
