PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the germination rate of seeds, by whose simple means the germination rate can be improved. SOLUTION: This method for improving the germination rate of seeds, characterized by charging the seeds and water in an air-tight bag, removing air left in the bag, charging oxygen gas in an amount of 40 to 80% in the bag, sealing the opening of the bag, putting the bag in a vacuum vessel, holding the bag in the vacuum state for 30 min to 8 hr, and then taking out the bag.
