PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a side-by-side conjugate fiber capable of obtaining textiles having soft feeling and excellent in tenseness and stiffness. SOLUTION: This side-by-side conjugate fiber comprises polyester components (A) and (B) and is splittable into a group comprising a thin fineness fiber mainly composed of the component (A) and a group comprising a thick fineness fiber mainly composed of the component (B) by splitting treatment wherein the component (A) is a trimethylene terephthalate-based polyester and the component (B) is a polyethylene terephthalate-based polyester.
