PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition for a resin which can be easy coated on a substrate and gives a resin molded article excellent in antifoulancy, durability and transparency and exhibiting photocatalytic functions. SOLUTION: There are provided a coating composition for a resin (I) comprising (a) at least one selected from the group consisting of organosilanes represented by the formula) (R1)nSi(OR2)4-n, hydrolyzates of the organosilanes and condensates of the organosilanes, (b1) water and/or an organic solvent and (c) a photocatalyst, a coating composition for a resin (II) comprising the component (a), (b2) a polymer bearing a hydrolyzable group and/or a silyl group containing a silicon atom bonded to a hydroxyl group, and (c) a photocatalyst, a coating composition for a resin (III) comprising the component (a), (b3) a fluorine-containing polymer bearing a silyl group and (c) a photocatalyst, and a coating composition for a resin (IV) comprising an aqueous dispersion comprising a polymer containing the component (a) and the component (b2), and (c) a photocatalyst which are dispersed in an aqueous medium.
