PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolymer having little degradation at a high temperature of not less than 200 deg.C at which an optical transparent member is molded, and excellent in the balance between low hygroscopicity and heat resistance, and an optical transparent member comprising the copolymer. SOLUTION: The copolymer comprises a monomer unit represented by formula (1) (wherein R is H or CH3) and another monomer unit copolymerizable with the monomer represented by formula (1). The optical transparent member comprises the copolymer.
