PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polysaccharide derivative that shows a high thickening effect at a low content even in the presence of a surfactant and can be used as a thickening agent for cleaning. SOLUTION: A polysaccharide derivative is provided wherein all or part of the hydrogen atoms in the hydroxyl groups of a polysaccharide or a derivative thereof is replaced with group A: an amide group-containing hydrophobic group and/or group B: an anionic group.
