PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge storage tank capable of efficiently removing phosphorus compounds, and a septic tank capable of stably removing phosphorus in sewage. SOLUTION: This sludge storage tank is partitioned into an inner chamber and an outer chamber by a hopper-shaped partition plate, wherein a sludge transfer pipe is connected to the outer chamber. This septic tank has an anaerobic treatment tank, an aerobic treatment tank and a reaction tank, in which a phosphorus removing agent forms solid phosphorus compounds from the phosphorus compounds in the sewage and solid-liquid separation is carried out, and the sludge storage tank. The septic tank transfers the phosphorus compounds and the sludge from the reaction tank to the sludge storage tank.
