PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a biodegradable fiber controlling natural embrittlement in the air, having durability and showing excellent biodegradability when dumped in soil. SOLUTION: This biodegradable synthetic fiber has a synthetic fiber having biodegradability such as polylactic acid and the surface of the synthetic fiber is provided with a natural embrittlement inhibitor. The natural embrittlement inhibitor may be a material to suppress ultraviolet rays, or the like, and to coat the surface of the fiber. The natural embrittlement inhibitor has preferably biodegradability and is a film-forming processing agent such as silk protein, milk protein, chitin/chitosan, collagen, sodium alginate, etc. |
