PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high bulk density detergent composition that shows excellent solubility, particularly even in the case of washing at lowered temperatures or with lowered mechanical power. SOLUTION: This invention shows the result in examinations what kinds of matters cause the poor solubilities of detergents to obtain the following findings: the remaining of a detergent undissolved in the low-temperature washing can be suppressed by adjusting the mass ratio of the formulation of surfactants and water-soluble crystalline inorganic salts to the surfactants and the water-soluble crystalline inorganic salts in the granular detergent having the particle size of <=150μm in the range of 4/1-1/2. In an embodiment, the high bulk density detergent composition characteristically comprises 15-50 mass % of surfactants and 5-40 mass % of water-soluble crystalline inorganic salts in which the content of the detergent with the average particle size of <=150μm is >=5 mass % and the mass ratio of the surfactants to the water-soluble crystalline inorganic salts that are included in the detergent particles with the average particle size of <=150μm is characteristically in the range of 4/1-1/2.
