PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for processing image in which tandem printing can be performed again efficiently even when a part of the image processing system malfunctions due to some cause during tandem printing and operation is recovered later. SOLUTION: The image processing system comprises first and second imaging apparatus each having a memory for storing image and receiving and printing the image, and a controller having a memory for storing image and controlling shared printing of image by these imaging apparatus. During shared printing by these imaging apparatus, contents of these imaging apparatus or the controller are reset or disabled to read out. When the operation is reset to normal state, a stored image is fetched from other imaging apparatus of controller and the shared printing amount of residual print is calculated again in order to continue shared printing.
