摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel titanylphthalocyanine crystal which produce a coating liquid capable of stably forming a photosensitive layer having good sensitivity characteristics and excellent in storage stability and to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor produced therefrom and excellent in sensitivity characteristics. SOLUTION: This crystal has at least one of the following characteristics (a) and (b): (a) in the differential scanning calorimetry, the crystal has no peak of temperature change in the range of from 50 deg.C to 400 deg.C other than a peak accompanying the evaporation of adsorbed water; and (b) in the CuKαcharacteristic X-ray diffraction spectrum, the crystal after immersed in an organic solvent for 24 hr and recovered has the maximum peak at a Bragg angle (2θ±0.2 deg.) of 27.7 deg. and has no peak at a Bragg angle of 26.2 deg.. The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer containing the above titanylphthalocyanine crystal. In other electrophotographic photoreceptors, the peak at the Bragg angle (2θ±0.2 deg.) of 26.2 deg. is not higher than the maximum peak even when a titanylphthalocyanine crystal isolated from the photosensitive layer is immersed in an organic solvent for 24 hr deg..
