PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid tank having one or two or more overflow boxes to allow impurities afloat on an upper layer portion of the liquid stored in the liquid tank to flow over a weir part together with the liquid which is free from any considerable change in quantity of the liquid flowing into the overflow box over the gate part, enables stable liquid filteration accordingly, allows not only the floatable impurities afloat on the liquid surface but also the easily movable impurities in a lower layer to flow into the overflow box, and to be collected and efficiently filtered in spite of vertical change in the liquid level in the liquid tank, and a gate member therefor. SOLUTION: Each of liquid tanks 11-15 has the overflow boxes B1, B2 to allow the impurities afloat on an upper layer portion in the liquid stored in the liquid tanks to overflow from gate parts 21 and 22 together with the liquid, each of weir parts 21 and 22 forms notches 20 for overflow on upper edge portions of partition walls w1 and w2 between the overflow boxes and the liquid tanks, or provided with weir members 8, 8' having a notch 80 for overflow in an attachable/detachable manner.
