PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die stock in which the crystal faces are orientated in a single direction, to provide a die using the same and to provide a method capable of easily producing them. SOLUTION: The flat surface of a substrate is electroplated with a required metal at a low current density, and, thereafter, the plating layer is peeled, or, an electrically conductive core material is electroplated with a required metal at a low current density. The obtained die stock for forming is formed into a required shape by a working method such as ion milling and ion sputtering to obtain a die for forming.
