PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a molded article constituted so as to rapidly advance the transesterification reaction of a blend of PEN and PET at the time of molding to transparentize the blend while suppressing the formation of acetraldehyde. SOLUTION: In a method for melting and kneading a thermoplastic polyester composition containing 99-1 weight% of polyethylene naphthalenedicarboxylate and 1-99 weight% of polyethylene terephthalate to mold the same, a screw plastication apparatus equipped with a cylinder and a screw is used to perform melting and kneading and the screw satisfies a condition represented by formula; 0(%)<(mL-pL)/total length of screw <30(%) (wherein mL is the distance from a hopper to the start point of a kneading part and pL is the distance from the hopper to the completion point of the kneading part).
