An insulating joint between railway rails comprises glass-fibre reinforced laminated resinous fish plates 10 bearing between the radius 15 joining the underside of the rail head 13a and the sloping upper surface 17 of the base flange, with the adjacent face 16 of the fish-plate clear of the web 13c, the plates 10 being secured by mechanical means 27 passing through holes 22 in the fish-plates and in four bearing plates 23, positioned in pairs on the opposite sides of the joint, having faces touching the fish-plate faces 11 and opposite faces 24 substantially perpendicular to the holes 22. An insulating end post is positioned between the rail ends. |
