PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light sensitive and heat sensitive recording material high in the whiteness of a skin part, capable of forming stably an image prominent in contrast and excellent in storage stability (material storage stability, image storage stability) capable of preserving the formed image stably for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The light sensitive and heat sensitive recording material is provided with a light sensitive and heat sensitive recording layer, containing at least one kind of diazonium salt and at least one kind of coupler developing color when the same is reacted with the diazonium salt. In this case, the light sensitive and heat sensitive layer is constituted of a light sensitive and heat sensitive recording material, shown by a general formula (1).
