METHOD FOR PRODUCING AMPHOTERIC ION EXCHANGE FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an amphoteric ion exchange fiber suitable for a filler of an electric demineralization apparatus. SOLUTION: Fine particles of a cationic exchanger are mixed with a polyvinyl alcohol, and the resultant mixture is formed into a fiber. Anion exchanging groups are introduced to the polyvinyl alcohol parts of the obtained cationic exchanger-containing polyvinyl alcohol fiber to provide the objective amphoteric ion exchange fiber.
