FLAME-RETARDANT PHENOL RESIN COMPOSITION, PREPREG AND COPPER-CLAD LAMINATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition exhibiting excellent flame retardance without using a halogen-based flame retardant, excellent in heat resistance and punching quality and a prepreg and a copper-clad laminate using the above phenol resin composition. SOLUTION: This flame-retardant phenol resin composition comprises a vegetable oil-modified phenol resin obtained by reacting vegetable oil-added phenols obtained by adding a vegetable oil to phenols with aldehydes in the presence of an alkali catalyst, a melamine-modified phenol resin and a phosphate. This prepreg is obtained by impregnating the above flame-retardant phenol resin composition into a paper substrate. This copper-clad laminate is obtained by overlapping the plural sheets of prepreg and superposing copper foil to the outermost layer and heating the superposed material under pressure.
