PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method whereby high-melting-point crystalline 1,2-polybutadiene can be produced even at a high polymerization temperature. SOLUTION: In a method for producing crystalline 1,2-polybutadiene by conducting polymerization in the presence of a catalyst comprising a cobalt complex, an organoaluminumoxy compound, and an organoaluminum compound, the organoaluminumoxy compound is a modified one containing toluene- insolubles.
