PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low irritation liquid detergent composition comprising a sulfur-containing anionic surfactant, and having a desired viscosity and foaming power. SOLUTION: This liquid detergent composition is prepared by formulating (A) 30-90 wt.% of the sulfur-containing anionic surfactant with (B) 10-70 wt.% of a thickener which is composed of a branched-chain higher fatty acid amide amine oxide represented by the following formula (1) (wherein R1 and R2 are each a 1-10C alkyl group; R3 and R4 are each a 1-3C alkyl group; and (n) is 1 to 3).
