PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical control device of a turning mechanism capable of improving rotation positioning accuracy of a turning body and a rotation position control method of the turning mechanism, in a turning mechanism that converts a motion of a linear moving body into a turning motion of the turning body and performs the rotation position control of the turning body by the positioning control of the linear moving body. SOLUTION: The numerical control device 50 comprises a connection point distance setting part 55 as a connection point distance setting means for setting a distance R between a connection point C1 and a turning shaft A, an angle error amount setting part 55 as an angle error amount setting means for setting an angle error amountδθfrom a desired rotation position of the turning body, gain adjusting part 53 and adder 52 as a correcting means for correcting a desired rotation position commandθr of the turning body based on the angle error amountδθ, and a coordinate converting part 56 as a converting means for converting the corrected desired rotation position command Mθto a desired position command Xr of the linear moving body.
