<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker whose insulating performance of the electrode gap is prevented from degrading with complicated behaviors of a minute foreign matter of metal by furnishing a ring-shaped groove of low electric field space to capture the minute foreign matter at the surface of an electrode located below. SOLUTION: An insulative gas is encapsulated in a metal vessel 1, and a movable contacting piece 44 of a movable side electrode 4 is made capable of contacting with and separating from a resilient contacting piece 53 of a stationary side electrode 5, and thereby opening and closing of the DC electric path are conducted. In this vertical type DC gas-insulated circuit breaker, a ring-shaped groove 51a of a low electric field space is formed at the electrode surface or its peripheral edges on the shield 51 provided for the stationary side electrode 5 located under, and therewith minute foreign matter of metal is captured. An adhesive coating is applied to this groove 51a to ensure the capture of the foreign matter.</p> |
