The present invention relates to a branched compound for use in nucleic acid detection and analysis reactions, as well as a process for the synthesis thereof. The invention also concerns a process for a nucleic acid synthesis reaction making use of the branched compound as well as uses of the novel compound. The invention in addition concerns a kit comprising the branched compound.
