PRODUCTION METHOD FOR COPPER PHTHALOCYANINE PIGMENT COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper phthalocyanine pigment composition excellent in tinting strength and dispersibility in few steps. SOLUTION: A slurry solution obtained by mixing a copper phthalocyanine semicrude containing 1 wt.% or lower organic compounds other than copper phthalocyanine with a resin-base dispersion medium (e.g. a dispersion medium for printing ink) is heated to 60-200 deg.C to simultaneously conduct the conversion of the semicrude into a pigment and the dispersion of the pigment in the resin- base dispersion medium. The conversion of the semicrude into a pigment may be conducted by using a treating liquid in place of the resin-base dispersion medium; in that case, a resin-base dispersion medium is added to the resultant slurry solution to extract the pigment with the medium; and then the treating liquid is removed.
