PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print at a correct position as much as possible. SOLUTION: The printing controlling apparatus has a position-detecting part 6a for detecting a position of a paper driven by a paper feed motor 1 on the basis of output pulses of an encoder 13 rotating following the rotation of the paper feed motor 1 and a driving control part for applying a current value to the paper feed motor on the basis of a target value of a paper feed amount and an output of the position-detecting part thereby controlling to drive the paper feed motor. The apparatus is provided with a current value signal-generating part 6p. While the paper feed motor stops, the generating part judges whether or not an absolute value of a deviation of the output of the position-detecting part from the target value of the paper feed amount is within a range between a first predetermined value and a second predetermined value smaller than the first predetermined value, and generates a current value signal which makes the deviation zero when the absolute value is within the range. The driving control part controls the paper feed motor based on the current value signal.
