PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for efficiently cooling a portion dressed by a rotary diamond when the grinding wheel end face of a grinding wheel is dressed by the rotary diamond. SOLUTION: When the grinding wheel end face 2b of the grinding wheel 2 is dressed by the rotary diamond 3, a coolant C from a coolant supply nozzle 11 is guided along a coolant guide portion 12 of the rotary diamond 3 opposed to the grinding wheel end face 2b and supplied to a contact point P2 between the rotary diamond 3 and the grinding wheel end face 3b. The rotating motion of the rotary diamond 3 gives centrifugal force to the coolant C, while the rotating grinding wheel 2 and the rotary diamond 3 forms no barriers to the supplied coolant, ensuring arrival of the most part at the contact point P2.
