PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new natural olive extract which has a strong active oxygen-removing function, an excellent melamine production-inhibiting function, and a strong tumor cell proliferation-inhibiting and dying function, is stable, has high safety for human bodies, and has uses in a wide range. SOLUTION: This extract is obtained from an olive plant, preferably the extract obtained from the fruits and/or seeds of the olive plant. The extract has various functions, especially one or more of an active oxygen-removing function, a melamine production-inhibiting function and a tumor cell proliferation-inhibiting and dying function. The extract can be obtained by extracting the olive plant with water and/or an organic solvent, and the functions can be improved by a concentration treatment and/or a fractionation purification treatment. |
