PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer a setting space of which can be minimized. SOLUTION: The printer 1 has a body frame 2 and a cover frame 3 rotatable about a support shaft 4 of the body frame 2. A printing head 20, a platen unit 30 and a holder unit 70 are set to the body frame 2. The platen unit 30 is constituted to be driven in association with the rotation of the cover frame 3 centering a support shaft 9 of the inner side (the side of the printing head 20) than the support shaft 4 of the cover frame 3 and rotated at a higher speed than a rotational speed of the cover frame 3.
