PURPOSE: A method for recording backup data is provided to prevent simultaneous damage of backup data even when original data is damaged due to a physical damage on a recording medium, by storing the original data and the backup data at different locations separated to each other. CONSTITUTION: A method for recording backup data stores a plurality of inputted channel data bit streams at a predetermined region on a recording medium(302). Backup data for the stored data bit stream original data are created(304). The backup data are stored at a location separated from the location on the recording medium in which the original data are stored(306).
