PURPOSE: A circuit of preventing surge for a horizontal output circuit of a monitor is provided to lower output voltage of collector in a horizontal output transistor by applying 5V DC voltage to a HV processor. CONSTITUTION: The circuit of preventing surge for a horizontal output circuit of a monitor includes a clamping diode(D2), the first transistor(Q2) and the second transistor(Q3). The clamping diode(D2) is parallel connected to the both ends of Cs correction capacitors(Cs,Cs1,Cs2,Cs3) of the Cs correcting part(51). The first transistor(Q2) turns on when the high signal from the HV processor(10) is applied to the base through the resistor(R1) upon mode change. The second transistor(Q3) has the base connected to the collector of the first transistor(Q2) and turns on upon the first transistor to apply the 5V DC voltage to the HV processor(10) through the diode connected to the collector.
