PURPOSE: The titled antibacterial composition containing a silver ion-based antibacterial compound resistant to discoloration and a specified polymer playing a discoloration-inhibiting role in a specified ratio is provided, which is widely used because it has low toxicity and discoloration resistance as compared to silver nitrate. CONSTITUTION: This antibacterial composition of formula 1 is characterized in that it shows low solubility to water, has solution characteristics to ammonia water or dimethylsulfoxide and contains a phenyl group or naphthalene group. The compound is selected from silver benzoate, silver naphthalene acetate and silver naphthalene sulfonate.
