PURPOSE: A local digital television signal generating apparatus is provided to be capable of generating an RF signal of advanced television system committee(ATSC) rule suitable for a test or a demonstration. CONSTITUTION: A local digital television signal generating apparatus includes a vestigial side band(VSB) signal reproducer(200). The VSB signal reproducer(200) includes a download unit(204) for downloading data from an external device storing data for digital broadcasting, a storage(201) for storing the downloaded data, a VSB remodulator(202) for VSB-modulating the stored data at the storage to produce RF signals, a control unit(203) for controlling downloading of the download unit(204) and VSB modulation of the VSN remodulator(202), and a microcontroller(205) for controlling and reading of data stored at the storage(201).
