PURPOSE: A device for monitoring a line interface adapter board of an ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) system is provided to recognize installation, uninstallation and type of a line interface adapter board by monitoring the line interface adapter board on a line interface board of the ADSL system. CONSTITUTION: A number of resistors and switches(R1-Rn,SW1-SWn) change state of signal line according to installation and uninstallation of a line interface adapter board. A line interface adapter board monitoring part(200) located on a specific location of a line interface board monitors installation and uninstallation of the line interface adapter board by comparing state values(St1-Stn) of the signal line with preset reference values(Sr1-Srn) and generates two display control signals(C1,C2) and uninstallation interrupt(C3) for displaying installation, uninstallation and type of a line interface adapter board. A CPU(300) reports uninstallation of the line interface adapter board according to uninstallation interrupt outputted from the line interface adapter board monitoring part(200). An uninstallation and type display part(400) displays type of the line interface adapter board and whether the line interface adapter board has been installed or uninstalled according to the display control signals(C1,C2) outputted from the line interface adapter board monitoring part(200).
