PURPOSE: A software remote downloading method is provided to download a target file even if the target file is greater than a RAM capacity of a destination processor by dividing the target file into several portions of a size to be receivable by the RAM, sequentially downloading it to the RAM and sequentially and repeatedly copying the downloaded portions of the target file in a corresponding FROM(Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable ROM) region. CONSTITUTION: Both processor boards are initialized(302). The first sequence transmitted from a source processor board is received by a destination processor board through a RAM(304). The destination processor board may display a proceeding rate of downloading for an operator's convenience(306). It is checked whether the currently received sequence is the last sequence(308). If it is not the last sequence, the destination processor board copies the sequence stored in the RAM into an FROM1(Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable ROM)(310). The destination processor board transmits a message requesting transmission of the next sequence from the source processor board(312). Then, the source processor board transmits the next sequence of a target file to the RAM of the destination processor board. When the mode transmission is made up to the last sequence, it is checked whether it is the last sequence(308), and the last sequence is copied in the FROM(316).
