PURPOSE: A screen structure of a flat braun tube is provided to be capable of minimizing the inflation of a metal reflection layer by depositing the metal reflection layer only on selected portions of a non-effective surface, and of enhancing the shielding process against fiducial holes formed on the non-effective surface. CONSTITUTION: The screen structure consists of a light emission area, an effective surface formed of optical absorbing layers, and an optical absorbing area formed in periphery of the effective surface. When forming a metal reflection layer on a fluorescent surface(201) of a glass panel(200), all the portions of a non-effective surface formed of only black matrix except corner parts are shielded by hole shields(203) shielding fiducial holes(204) positioned in particular points. To this end, the area of the hole shields(203) is greater by about four times than the area of the metal reflection layer.
