摘要 PURPOSE: An optical repeater is provided to support a forward link spatial diversity. CONSTITUTION: An optical repeater local station(300) consists of a forward receiving part(310), a backward transmitting part(330), the second wavelength division multiplexer/demultiplexer(350), the first and second duplexers(370,390), and the first and second transmit-receive antennas(371,391). The forward receiving part(310) converts the demultiplexed optical signals from the second wavelength division multiplexer/demultiplexer(350) into electrical signals, classifies the converted signals by frequencies, generates the first and second forward communication signals(TX0,TX1), and supplies them to the duplexers(370,390). The forward receiving part(310) is comprised of the second optical/electrical converter(311), the second splitter(313), the third preamplifier(315), the first high power amplifier(316), the third frequency converter(317), the fourth preamplifier(318), and the second high power amplifier(319). The second optical/electrical converter(311) converts the demultiplexed optical signals from the second wavelength division multiplexer/demultiplexer(350) into electrical signals and provides them to the second splitter(313). The second splitter(313) separates the converted signals(TX0,TX1) by frequencies, generates the first and second forward communication signals(TX0,TX1), and supplies them to the third preamplifier(315) and the third frequency converter(317) respectively. The third preamplifier(315) amplifies the first forward communication signal(TX0) and supplies the amplified signal to the first high power amplifier(316). The third frequency converter(317) converts the second forward communication signal(TX1) into the original frequency and provides the frequency-converted signal to the fourth preamplifier(318). The fourth preamplifier(318) amplifies the second forward communication signal(TX1) and provides it to the second high power amplifier(319). The first high power amplifier(316) and the second high power amplifier(319) respectively amplify the first and second forward communication signals(TX0,TX1) and supply the amplified signals to the duplexers(370,390).
