DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING ILMI MESSAGE FOR USERS

PURPOSE: A device for processing ILMI(Integrated Local Management Interface) messages for users is provided to classify the ILMI messages by each RID(Response Identification) or a conversion RID to transmit the ILMI messages to a network, and to transmit the ILMI messages to corresponding users by confirming the RID or the conversion RID. CONSTITUTION: User terminals(100) output ILMI(Integrated Local Management Interface) messages in respond to controls of users. An ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) switching unit(300) transmits the ILMI messages from the users to an ATM network, or transmits the ILMI messages from the ATM network to the users. A multiplexing controller(200) is connected between the user terminals(100) and the ATM switching unit(300), and sets up transmission IDs(Identifications) of the ILMI messages to transmit the transmission IDs to the ATM switching unit(300). The multiplexing controller(200) transmits the ILMI messages to the corresponding user terminals(100) on the basis of RIDs(Response Identifications) of SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) packets included in the ILMI messages.
